The U.S. Leads the Way for Women on Day 1
Danielle McEwan of the USA is in the lead in the women’s section of the 52nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Shanghai after the first block of five games. Danielle has played in the event twice before, coming 4th both times.
Her pinfall – 1157 – gives her a 231.4 average, and her games were remarkably as her high game was 247.
Lying in second place is Lisa John of England on 1126 (225.2). Lisa is looking to go one better than her result in 2006 when she came runner up in Caracas, Venezuela.
At the moment, the high game is 279, from Rebecca Whiting of Australia.
The women are playing for a place in the top 24, which is currently on a 188 average. Aumi Guerra of the Dominican Republic, our champion in 2010 and 2011, is in 24th spot, while the defending champ, Clara Guerrero of Colombia is in 11th.
