Perfect games already in 49th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup
The 49th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup is witnessing very high scoring on perfect lane conditions and already we have three perfect games.
First up, and therefore the winner of the trophy for high game, was Kestutis Gudauskas of Lithuania. Kestutis, who is 28 and comes from the city of Kaunas, thus claims the 42nd men’s 300 in the history of the tournament but he is not the first Lithuanian player to hit the magic number. That honour went to Andrejus Puskariovas in Singapore in 2004. Kestutis also bowled in the World Cup last year in Poland where he finished 65th.
Later in the day, Alex de Vries of the Netherlands hit the second perfect game and that was followed by another perfect score, this time from Derek Lee, a student from Macau. Two of the three perfect games were played on the lanes covered by our live streaming.
In the lead after the first of four sets of six games is Peter Hellström of Sweden on 1543, an average of 257.17. In second is William Ching of Venezuela on 1495 with Benshir Layoso of the Philippines in third on 1479.
The men are playing for a place in the top 24 and after just six games the cut is on 1364, a 227 average.  The overall average for all the men is 212.64.
The tournament is taking place in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk, in Siberia, in the ‘Fire Ball’ centre which is part of the superb Sibiryak hotel and leisure complex. The finals will be held on Saturday.
