Confirmed entries for the 50th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup are coming in fast.

. Both players are new to the event: Lucyna Charezinska,  a 34-year-old accountant from the town of Pila in the north west of the country , is coached by husband Marek. Michal Brachaniec comes from Sosnowiec in southern Poland  and is just 17 years old. They will be sure of a great welcome from everyone.
 
We are pleased to welcome back Russian Alexey Parshukov who bowled so well last year, finishing in 3rd place, Russia’s highest ever placing in the event. Their female player will be Maria Bulanova, making her first appearance 
Among the other well-known names is Sue Abela from Malta who will be making her 12th appearance in the event. Her best result was 6th in 1991 when she also won the Sportswoman of the Tournament award. There is also a welcome return for Bigi Manico of Switzerland, making her 11th appearance and like Sue, a winner of the Sportswoman award, this time in 2010. Janet Shaikh of Pakistan will also be back – our Sportswoman last year in Krasnoyarsk – while Shant Panos Tomassian will be representing Iraq again.
 
Married couple Khaled and Hela Mezioiu of Tunisia and will be back, as will Samy-Anna Saba, playing for New Caledonia, who met her husband, Marin Trainer, at the World Cup.  Marin will not be playing this year but instead take on the role of team coach.   It is Samy-Anna’s 10th appearance in the event.
 
Nigeria will be part of the tournament for the first time. Their players, Henry Imalele and Sarah Amen Okungbowa, are both students. Luxemburg will be back for the first time in 14 years, represented by David Manderscheit and Nora Turci.

And this year I am delighted to be able to welcome a new nation, Nigeria. The Bowling World Cup really does go from strength to strength.”

This year is the 50th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup and several celebrations are being planned, including a spectacular final. Further information will be given in due course. The event will be held at the Sky Bowling Centre in Wroclaw, part of the Fitness Academy Group. The opening ceremony will be on Monday 3rd November with the finals on Sunday 9th  November 2014.
