More names – and some good news for players

More countries have announced the names of the players who will be representing them in the 49th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, in November.
Or Aviram will be coming again to represent Israel. Or has played four times previously with his best result being runner up in Ljubljana in 2005. Or’s sister and mother have also competed in the event. Israel’s female player will be Tali Itzhak.

The USA will be represented by John Szczbernski, who also competed in 2010 in Toulon where he finished 5th, and by Danielle McEwan who played last year in Wroclaw, Poland, coming 4th and picking up the trophy for ladies high games with a 300, her first ever perfect game.

Several other players will also making a welcome return. Elkhan Feyzullayev of Azerbaijan competed in 2010 and 2011, while Ghislaine van der Tol payed for the Netherlands in 2007, finishing 5th. Adam Shrubb will be returning, representing Gibraltar. Last year Adam came 9th, just missing the cut for the round robin, in his country’s best ever result.

Both Ireland and Finland will be represented by newcomers to the event: Sarah Flannery and Christopher Sloan for Ireland and Sami Lampo and Roosa Lunden for Finland.

There is also some good news for all players. S7 (Siberian Airlines) are this year’s official airline.
S7 will provide free baggage allowance of 45 kilos for sportsmen and guests on all their flights into Krasnoyarsk. S7 Airlines belong to the One World programme.
Members of the One World Programme will also provide special excess baggage rates on their flights for both sportsmen and guests. To qualify for the luggage allowance you will need to provide the World Cup Office with details of your flights no later than 1st October.

Anne-Marie Board, QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup Manager, said: “I know how difficult it is for players when they have to bring so much equipment so this extra baggage allowance is most welcome.

“The fabulous bowling and leisure complex will have its official opening on 20th September. The facilities really are amazing and all those involved in the local organising committee are doing a great job to make this one of the most memorable events ever. During my visits I have been very impressed with the expertise, enthusiasm and kindness of the local team and I am sure all players and guests will really enjoy their trip to Krasnoyarsk.”

The organisers of the tournament are also offering a free sight-seeing trip around the city itself as well as a trip to the Beaver Ravine Park for €30. The park is in the Kuysumsky mountains and offers spectacular views of the Stolby Reserve from a cable car.
